Denney & Coughlin continue to impress; news from Yankowskas

It seems that Denney and Coughlin are doing a good job of establishing themselves before the Grand Prix begins:

They will debut their long program today on slushy, wet ice due to the summer heat in the Midwest.

Coughlin’s former partner, Caitlin Yankowskas, has moved her training base to Detroit to train with Johnny Johns:

I don’t know how it’s done exactly, but doesn’t it seem just a bit odd that Yankowskas would settle on a coach before she gets a new partner? What if her new partner doesn’t want to train in Detroit (or is she only trying out with guys who agree to skate there if the tryout works out)? Just musings of a skating fan!
