The ISU has admitted that Virtue and Moir’s free dance combination lift has been mistakenly underscored all season. The GOE calculation for the lift was upgraded by ISU rule before the current season, but evidently Swiss Timing, the firm that maintains the ISU’s scoring program, did not update the program to reflect the change. (The change raises the points added for the lift done with a +3 GOE from 2.5 to 3 points).
Had their free dance been properly scored, Virtue and Moir would have won the free dance portion of the Grand Prix Final recently held in Quebec City. However, Davis and White would still have won the overall competition.
